Welcome to my colourful World...

Charity shops are brilliant in my eyes ( quite a lot of the stuff in my room has come from there), I hate people who supposedly follow fashion who say they hate charity shops because it means that the don’t follow fashion, they follow brands. Fashion is any piece of clothing you think you could make work , may it be old, new ,used (not vintage—used—because Urban outfitters are flogging off charity shop finds for like £50 quid because they are apparently Vintage!) So why not take up Vintage yourself , go to a charity shop find something you like for a charity shop price , it all goes to a good cause instead of supporting the brands who win out of the fear of going into a charity shop!

 Hey Guys,

And yet again my writing font has changed and a slow and laborious process but I hope to perfect my blogs appearance sometime within the next ten years. That's one of my flaws the awful ability to make decisions but I trying to get better at it. The other day I stood in Asda trying to decide whether to buy green or red apples and in the end I just got pears because I just couldn't discriminate. But that’s off topic.

So today my post is going to me a mini tour of my lifestyle because it occurred to me you don’t really know a lot about me probably , especially if you are from a different country which most of you are according to me statistic—oh get me.

So here we go Le grand tour of my boudoir or here is my bedroom for all us commoners…

I love colour so get ready for some crazy creative things around my bedroom. The reason I like to have different colours in my bedroom is whatever emotion I’m feeling there is always one that reflects it. As you cans see my walls and white with bright polka dots on them. Each in a  different colour. I wanted to keep it white with lots of mirror because as you can see my bedroom is the not the biggest space in the world.

I am a really creative person , I am doing my GCSE’s at the moment and have taken 4 creative subjects—Art ,Textiles, Graphic Design and Catering which means I’m piled on top off with coursework which is the reason why more post’s don't go up! I have tried to include a few of my drawings and memories in a  photo collage above my desk and I love cute fun bright bubbly things so there are lots of those about my room.

My duvet cover is a linen IKEA one from last season and was fairly expensive but I love it as its not a repeated pattern its  a one off fun quirky centre point which is colourful and unique. As I love my fashion and girly bits and bobs you can see a large full to the brim wardrobe and jewellery stands and containers everywhere as well as lots and lots of photo’s of family and friends because its so personal and it makes this MY room , not anyone else's!

I am also into my music so there is my gorgeous Spanish guitar and some posters of music people , and yes you got me my major fan girl moment over One Direction  , but those Lads can sing—you have to admit it!
I have had this room for about 5 years now and year  I try to adapt it with some of my artwork , fresh pictures , cards and posters , maybe new duvets. I love having a big sort out as well and taking a load of stuff down to charity shops.

A very Brittish affair ...

Hey Guys,

So today im going to be talking about the very British culture. Anyone from England will know that we are not quite as civilized as we are made out to be. For example in the film The Parent Trap (Lindsey Lohan in her prime , its such a shame –I swear all our child star's are in rehab-Hillary Duff’s about the only one who hasn’t ended up there– Good on he –anyway) If you have ever seen this classic film , there are two twins who meet at a summer camp and neither one of them know the other exist –its quite confoggling-one lives in England and the other in California so they decide to swap lives without the parents finding out. Anyway the British stereotype in this film and many other is that we all have butlers and never swear. We all drink champagne , live in London and wear tweed suits. I guess it’s similar to our thoughts about the USA—cowgirl/country or Californian blonde bimbo.Actually I’m sure people like that exist in both countries , and it’s true watch the programme—’Harrow a very British school’ and it will confirm your beliefs. However the majority of the population here are normal , everyday people ,some chav’s , some city workaholics, some old traditionalists, some modern fashion conscious teenagers , but mostly just everyday.

I live in the middle of Cambridge and London so I see a right mixture of cultures. I have to admit I am more of a traditionalist when it comes to modern technology as I tell you every post , I’d rather have a conversation with someone face to face than behind a screen. Recently I celebrated my 16th birthday and me and two of my closest friends went to a beautiful place Called Grantcheser, near Cambridge. If you are over in the Uk or live here I recommend going there! We decided we were going to go for an afternoon tea , one of England's well known traditions this consists of Scones,Jam and clotted cream—so moreish and definitely a heart attack on a plate. This is traditionally served with Tea. Before we ate the scones we decided to have a Ploughman’s lunch , a slightly less well know English favourite , its basically a cheese or ham board with bread , chutneys an apple and some salad. Its called a ploughman's lunch because it is the kind of lunch a farmer/ploughman used to eat in the olden days.

So today I have decided to look up and tell you about English traditions for you to learn about too—and I have to admit we are a bit of a crazy nation…

Punting—Cambridge is famous for it’s punting. Its basically a long wooden boat that someone stands on the back of to steer. They use a big stick and pull the boat along by paddling the stick on the river bed. It’s really popular along the Cam’s river to view all the universities!

Pubs– Not a bar but not a restaurant. It’s a mixture. Its usually in small villages and serves traditional English ‘Pub-Grub’ for instance Toad in the hole’ , ‘Cottage pie’ and ‘Cobbler. 'The fire is lit and the rooms are often dark and cosy.

Fish and chips– These are takeaway restaurants found all over the Uk , Its basically battered Cod fillet served with salty chips, coated in vinegar, Served in Newspaper cones with a wooden prong of a fork—often with mushy peas—peas and flour cooked down to goop.

Pimm’s and garden party’s—In the summer people sit round in beautiful gardens and eat cake , drink fresh lemonade and chatter. Pimm’s is a fruity drink—similar to the idea of Sangria that is filled with fruit and lashed over ice , served from a big jug. But we can’t sit outside for too long—us brits burn!

The Roast Dinner –Every Sunday lunchtime we all sit down as a family and eat roasted meats—for example Beef,Pork,Chciken,Turkey,Lamb,Gammon etc. This is then served with roasted potatoes , vegetables , a Yorkshire pudding ( like a pancake battered bowl), bisto gravy and a sauce (mint, apple, cranberry etc) It is a big tradition in the Uk and most people I know still have a Roast dinner every Sunday!

Double Decker red buses— Transport commonly found in the centre of London. A bus that has two decks , an upstairs and a downstairs and its bright cherry red!

So that’s it—a few things that make us British. I personally don’t really like the British attitude—that we are better than everyone else and that ‘We are proud to be British’ because I’m not , some people are so ignorant and totally not in touch with the world because of technology and people forget what they have got. I think it’s nicer to live somewhere where the family’s care about one another , talk to each other and the community is tight and well respected—so fingers crossed the world—keep a look out for me in the future!

I love Auturm apparently

Hey Guys, So I’ve been tagged (oh no –for some reason now I’m imagining me being shot down and screaming –like oh no I've been tagged!)

But yes , I’ve been tagged so I guess I have to do this –Thanks a lot EmilyBelleBlogs

1. What is your favourite piece of clothing to be wearing in Autumn?

Its got to be my bright cherry red trench coat! I love the autumn season where you get to wear the in-between of your thick coat and no coat– the Classic trench or Barbour are the most common I’d say! I bought my red trench coat in a charity shop with the tags on –new never worn etc. Guess how much a Fiver! And reasons why I love it –I have a mixture of thin fabric scarves that have hints of red in them—I have a toucan one and a sausage dog one –at the moment I’ve got my eye on the lush-ist white stuff scarf with red squirrels on!

2. What is you favourite nail colour for Autumn?

Hmm.. Good question whoever wrote these! I’d actually say the new Barry M in Lime green –I know it sounds slightly unconventional for autumn but believe me –mix lime green with burgundy and its like liquid Topshop! (Translation –its good!) Seriously try it—I know it sounds odd but I works!

3. What is your favourite makeup product for Autumn?

Well , as people who know me personally know , I don’t wear a lot of make up , especially during the day-I will if I'm going out to a party or a special event but apart from that it’s nilch. But I will tell you what I really love –its Bourjois Blush pot in flushed or blush or something. It’s a really subtle Barbie pink and you only need the slightest hint of it –it feels so girly on and swiped over a bit of bronzer leaves you looking so healthy and yay!

4. What is your favourite beauty product to use during autumn?

I would probably say The Body Shop’s Vanilla collection , the shower gel , the scrub , the body butter and soap! They actually smell so warm and just like you want to go and devour a Vanilla éclair! It gets me all in the mood for Christmas as well because lets face it that little minx is creeping up on us!

5. What item of clothing do you love wearing at home, but woudn't be seen wearing it in public?

Um this is obvious for me .Its a really ugly pair of purple grandma slippers with the tackiest bow and crystal on the front. But they are just sooo comfy they are made out of that melting Mmm fleece that you  could make a sheep feel jealous with. They were only £3 or something from Sainsbury’s but I’m telling you Shaniqua go buy yourselves a pair for when your tootsies get chilly!

6. What is you favourite drink for the Autumn weather?

The same thing it is the whole year round a good Ol’ Cuppa Tea me dearies especially when I egt back from school and do my knitting. Mock me is you wish. I’d mock myself too!

7. What is your favourite winter food?

Either a good Mince Cobbler (with a really stodgy topping) or My Nans legendary stew with Boiled bacon and lentils with dumplings ! I’m sensing a stodgy dumpling-iy starch theme here , but hey you need energy at this time of the year!

8. What is you favourite thing to do in the autumn?

Curl up with my Beautiful Dog Shelley and sing song’s to her until she gets up and moves away from me—Also anoy my family by telling them its my birthday soon and then after it has been my birthday anoy them with the countdown to Christmas!

9. What is you favourite accessory?

Ohh , I forgot about these, but last year I bought a pine cone necklace and matching earrings and I must find them –wherever they are , I find it hard to remember what I bought for Autumn this time last year andf then probably didn’t wear –like always! But yeah they will look really cute with a perfect simply cut little black dress and riders boots!

10. What is you favourite Autumn scent?

Apple and Blackberry pie—when I was younger I used to go blackberry picking with my grandparents and I’m hoping to go this year with my Nan again because I love having a natter while we collect them so to me the scent of Apple and Blackberry pie is my childhood Autumn!

11. How do you like to have your hair in the autumn?

Well usually I play it safe with my long thick hair and have a practical classic ponytail or have it down but recently I’ve been having it in a French Braid and getting my Mum to do it for me because my arms aren’t long enough to do it myself , but on the bright side she's getting good now!

12. Do you love autumn?

Well love is a big word ,but I think its fit.

But I love the build up to the hard core cold and Christmas and also it is my birthday in autumn but I have to admit sometimes it is a bit of a shock going from a hot summer to a cold autumn but I love everyday of every month of every season of every year! So yes to conclude I do love Autumn and I also love you so marry me?

So I hope you enjoyed this ‘I love Fall tag’ Sorry I only half took this seriously , but I hope you enjoyed reading my answers and listening to my droning typing! I really have no-one to tag—OH hang on let me tag hayleylalar just to give her even more to think about!

Clothes to fall in love with this Season...

Hey guys.

So today I'm doing a trend forecast for the Autumn/Winter

I haven't really shown you much about my fashion sense and love for fashion but I hope reading and looking at a few of my favourite trends for this season will inspire you to try something different from the usual knitted jumper and jeans!

I have taken fashion and textiles as a Gcse and we love nothing more than have a good natter about the latest trends and what we think will suit each other. People who know me will know I’m not afraid to be out there with my clothing but today I’ve chosen a mixture because I know we all can’t be style icons and feel comfortable.

As you have probably noticed also the writing has changed-again– this is because I’m a perfectionist but heyho -together we can make the world a better place or if we don’t quite reach that al least we will find the right font for this blog!

Trend alert—Wotsit is in
This trend is going to get massive so bag yourself something orange now I promise you. Whether it’s a jumper or accessory , I think this jumper is so cute and would be lush with this orange hinted collar but if your not bold enough to go for this shade this light orange tee is lush also!

Trend alert– Backstreet 80’s
This trend is already starting to creep in with all the big chains and faded jeans , but it is even more so soon , I will say though , if your not confident don’t try this style you need to have a big personality to pull this one off-I don’t even think I could do it , but when its right –its really right! Just picture what your mum would have been wearing out and you’ll be fine! These Faded patch jeans are so eighties it’s unreal!

Trend alert– Monochrome continued into rebel
As you know monochrome(black and white) was massive this year and it’s going to be no different for the rest of the year. But this time I’ve found that the stores are crossing it with the new tartan/rebel rock chick vibe along with textured fabrics and this jacket is a perfect example of that! With this skirt and a cute pair of courts matched with this childish tee it’s the perfect minimalistic combo! I will certainly be investing!

Trend alert— Grunge School girl
Tartan’s in –once again old school makes its comeback! These green and blue tones of tartan are something a bit different and paired with these grunge school shoes and pen brook socks pulled up –you are avoiding the conventional frill socks and creating a statement!

All these fashion items are taken from Next, River island, Topshop, Asos, Peacocks, Matalan, Urban Outfitters, Fat Face, Warehouse

Hope this has givin you lots of crazy fashion ideas –what's your favourite season style trend alert?
